Autumn Market, T-Birds at Maritime Park Saturday
“Scary Halloween” October 31st
By Bill Powell
The 2nd Autumn Market at Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park will be held this Saturday October 22nd from 9am til1pm. As an added bonus, the T-bird Club will be visiting the Market with their collection of lovingly maintained vintage Ford Thunderbirds.
Nudging closer and closer to the 6o vendor mark, this weekends market may well move this increasingly popular local market “over the top”. The Deltaville Park welcomes new vendors Kino Alpacas, Lynn Carter, Mary Onley, Cecil Watts and Nancy Hebner for this Saturday’s Market. All your regular favorites, with everything from produce to hand-mades, will also be there.
The Kino Alpacas will offer all kinds of products made from the so soft fleece of Alpacas. Lynn Carter’s “”Salt of the Earth” brings painted gourds, bird houses and feeders. Nancy Hebner will be bringing her “Sassy N Classy Jewelry” of fused glass jewelry, plates and bowls. Mary Onley works in folk art and Cecil Watts, photographer, framed prints.
The T-bird Club will be the Museum’s special guests for this Market. These classic cars will line the “loop” avenue behind the Museum. See related article in this paper.
Autumn colors and flowers are now in the process of painting the Park’s palette. Make sure you take the time to walk the paths and waterfront to enjoy the ever changing mix of colors and foliage, lots of benches and tables for sitting and watching.
The Museum, as always on event days, is open, with free admission. If you haven’t seen the inside of the Museum and its offerings it’s your golden opportunity!
Billz Bistro opens at 8am with coffee, egg to order sandwiches and bowls. Country ham is now available. Breakfast will be served until the eggs run out, with the lunch menu coming up around 10am. The bistro is open til 1pm.
Cap’n Pete will be back on the “Pierwalk” offering free creek cruises to members. Here’s your chance to check out the autumn leaves along Mill and Jackson’s Creeks. Rides will begin about 11am and run through 1pm.
