~~~~~Attention, Deltaville Business Owners~~~~~
Members of the Deltaville Business Initiative Steering Committee will be
giving a report to the DCA at the regular monthly DCA Board meeting on
February 21, 2013, at 7:00 PM. The meeting will be held at the DCA
building. All Deltaville business owners are encouraged to attend! The
DBI will be updating the DCA Board and those in attendance with regards
to the strategic plan and objectives that are currently being met. This
very encouraging report includes information about the Virginia Tourism
Corporation’s Leverage Program and how Deltaville can participate. This
is one of those “you don’t want to miss” meetings!

in the DCA building on Tuesday evening, Nov. 27, 2012 at 7:00 PM.
Deltaville businesses are encouraged to attend this important gathering.

Maritime Park Annual Meeting Saturday

The Annual Member’s Meeting of Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park will be held this Saturday, Sept.10th at 4pm. The meeting will be held under the John’s Events Pavilion. The member’s meeting is open to the public.
President of the Museum and Park, Bob Kates, will open the official member’s meeting with a recap of the years accomplishments and a “State of the Museum” message. After the President’s address the membership will vote on the new Board members for 2012.
Following the official meeting and vote, Dr. Jim Wesson, head of the Conservation and Replenishment Division of the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, will be guest speaker.
Dr. Wesson will speak to the subject of the present and future of the oyster fishery in the Chesapeake Bay. This subject should be important to us all. In Jim’s position at VMRC, he is responsible for overseeing the oyster replenishment program and the various oyster farming efforts bay wide. All those interested in the current state of the Bay fisheries should attend. The general public is always welcome.
The 4th Annual Oyster Roast and Dance will follow the member’s meeting and Dr. Wesson’s speech with a social hour starting at 5pm.
Don’t forget, Art and Seafood Festival at the Maritime Park October 8th. Watch the Sentinel in September for details.
Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park, an all volunteer, all donation, non-profit organization, is located in Deltaville, VA. at 287 Jackson Creek Road, and by water on Mill Creek .The Museum is now a Wi-Fi hot spot. To get to the Museum and Park, follow Route 33 through Deltaville and turn right across from the Shell Station. The Park and all outside exhibits are open every day from dawn to dusk, year round.

Redistricting Meeting

This is a meeting with Carlton Revere and Fred Crittenden to discuss the effects of the proposal to redistrict Middlesex County into five districts with a representative from each of the five districts. Questions will be answered. Meeting held at Philippi Christian Church.
