The Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park today released its schedule of performers for their popular "Groovin' in the Park" music concert series. The music series is adding one concert to its 2010 schedule, bringing the series to 6. All Groovin's will be on the 4th Saturday of the month.
Robbin Thompson, Virginia's own award winning singer-songwriter leads off the outdoor music series on Saturday, May 1st, 5-7 pm. " I have ties to Middlesex County and the Deltaville area and have enjoyed seeing all the different and fun things the Museum is adding to the community. I'm really looking forward to playing for the Groovin' fans and starting off their season in 2010." commented Thompson.
The kick-off Groovin' will be part of the Museum and Park's opening day, the 2nd Annual "Working Watermen's Weekend" festivities scheduled for April 30th and May 1st. A complete schedule of the activities, offerings and exhibits for the Working Watermen's Weekend will be announced in early April.
The newly expanded Events Pavilion will serve as a rain location for these rain or shine outdoor performances. The new space will allow over 300 folks to enjoy "Groovin' in the Park" in inclement weather.
Tickets at the door for all Groovin's will be $10. An anyway/anytime 6 ticket package for the series will be available in advance of May 1st at a cost of $50, a $10 savings. These tickets can be used at any or all or the Groovin's. Ticket locations will be announced.
