Jackson Creek Christmas Cruise
An annual event for the Deltaville Community Association, this tour gives visitors an opportunity to see all the Christmas decorations along Lover's Lane and on the water. The fun begins with a hayride from the Community Center to the town dock where visitors board a typical deadrise work boat for a tour of Jackson Creek. After the 30-minute cruise, another hayride takes folks back to the Community Center for free homemade cookies and hot cider. Throughout the evening, Santa is available to receive the kids' wish lists. Cruises leave at 5, 6, and 7 pm and an 8 o'clock cruise will be scheduled if the earlier cruises are sold out. Advance tickets are available at local businesses. There is a nominal charge for everyone over 12. Last year the Deltaville Maritime Museum brought the Iva W., their 60', 1929 restored buyboat to the town dock for cruise visitors to tour. The Museum plans to bring either the Iva again or one of their other classic Chesapeake Bay workboats.
