Bayside Youth Ballet Christmas Performance

Bayside Youth Ballet will present their annual Christmas performance on Sunday, December 10 at 2:00PM at the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School. The ballet company will be performing “Journey to the Land of the Sweets”, Act II of the Nutcracker, for the second season. The popular Sugar Plum Fairy, Waltz of the Flowers and other excerpts from this beloved classic will be performed by dancers from Gloucester, Mathews, Middlesex, and Portsmouth as well as guest performances by students from Diggs School of Dance and BYB alumni. The company will also be performing “Les Patineurs”, a ballet depicting a Victorian skating party that takes place on a frozen pond on a winter’s evening, as well as other holiday selections.
With 33 dancers ranging in age from 7 to 18, new and exciting choreography, and lavish costumes, the program is sure to be a family favorite during this Christmas season.

Tickets for the performance are $12 for adults and $7 for children under 10 and are available at Office Supply in Gloucester, the Mathews Visitor Center and Diggs School of Dance in Gloucester or email baysideballet@gmail.com. Tickets will also be available at the door.

DCA to Host Election Forum on October 5

As in past elections, the Deltaville Community Association will host a public forum for candidates running for all County elected offices. The event will be held on Thursday, October 5, at 6:00PM at the DCA Building, 17147 General Puller Hwy, Deltaville, VA 23043. Invitees include all candidates for the Board of Supervisors and the School Board in both the Saluda and the Hartfield districts. The public is encouraged to attend.

Solar Open House

Deltaville resident, Janice Moore, is hosting a solar open house to show her solar system to neighbors and fellow Virginians from Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck, and to discuss how she went solar with the Middle Peninsula Solar Co-op. Railroaders Open House

Bayside Youth Ballet – Spring Gala

On Sunday, May 21, Bayside Youth Ballet will present their Spring Gala, “Celebrating the Classics and the Contemporary” at 2:00pm in the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School. Included in the program of jazz, classical ballet, modern, and musical theater are selections from Coppelia, the classical ballet, performances of Broadway classics and a dance to the classic rock sounds of Queen.

This performance marks the second presentation of the Enchanted Doll Shoppe by the company.
