The annual Christmas party for Deltaville and the Jackson Creek Christmas Cruise have been scheduled for Friday, December 13th, rain or shine.  The festivities will start at 4 pm at the Deltaville Community Center, 17147 General Puller Hwy. There will be a cookie contest this year with cash prizes of $100, $50, and $30 for first, second, and third prizes. Winners will be determined by the popular choice of those attending the party: one person, one vote for the best homemade cookie or confection.  Activities in the Deltaville Community Center building have not been finalized, but include Christmas carols, a model train exhibit, free cookies and cider, as well as the possible appearance of Ole Saint Nick. Watch for developments in the newspaper and on the DCA website.

Tickets for the Jackson Creek cruise will go on sale November 14th at Hurd’s Hardware, Deltaville. The tickets are $10 each, must be purchased in person, and are limited to 6 per family. Payment can be made in cash or by check only.  A total of 160 tickets are available for the 4 tours: 40 tickets will be sold for each time slot at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30.

The DCA building will open at 4 pm. Cookies for the contest and for the party can be dropped off after 1 pm. We are looking forward to hosting a crowd for the Christmas gathering. You do not need a cruise ticket to come to the party and enjoy free cider and the homemade cookies.  For additional information or to volunteer, call Gail Butler at 804-357-646
