Once the “Redman’s Lodge” and then the first home of Deltaville’s Public Library, the DCA Annex Building continues to serve the community as home to two organizations – The Rappahannock River Model Railroaders Club, and Flotilla 62 of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is an all-volunteer extension of the United States Coast Guard. The Auxiliary conducts search & rescue, operational support, training, and numerous other duties to ensure safe public waterways.
Deltaville’s Flotilla 62 of the USCG Auxiliary is based out of the DCA Annex. Meetings, safety trainings, and other activities are held at the Annex building.
Choo Choo! The Rappahannock River Railroaders provides educational opportunities to the public in areas of railroad operations, railroad safety, model railroad operations, and construction of models, layouts, low voltage electrical wiring, and artistic skills inherent to model railroading.
The second floor of the DCA Annex is home to two large model railroad layouts, one in O-gauge, another in HO-gauge. Regular open houses are free and open to the public on scheduled Saturdays.
