An expansive 34 acre campus fronting Broad Creek is home to the Holly Point Nature Park & Deltaville Maritime Museum. Walk the more than 400′ of creekside piers, relax in the creekside gazebo, or launch a kayak and paddle Jackson Creek at the kayak launch!
Deltaville boasts two public docks, one maintained by Middlesex County on Broad Creek, and another maintained by the State of Virginia on Jackson Creek.
The Jackson Creek State Dock is so large, you can drive out on it and turn around! The turning point for the Deltaville 5K, the dock is used by watermen to offload catch, and visitors to view the water, crab, and fish. It is located at the end of Lovers Lane. Limited street parking is available, and please respect the nearby residential neighbors!
The Broad Creek County Dock sits surrounded by Walden’s Marina at the end of Timberneck Road. While smaller than the Jackson Creek Dock, it is a beautiful vista, and a great place to check out the water. Like Jackson Creek, limited street parking is available, and please respect the marina parking for marina patrons.
While Deltaville does not have any public beaches at this time, it doesn’t mean there aren’t any close by! Wake Beach, located at the 1099 Mill Wharf Road, is just 10 minutes from Deltaville! Over 200′ of sandy shoreline fronts the Rappahannock River!
And while you can’t get there by car, if you’re on your boat or kayak, the Jackson Creek Sandbar (known locally as “The Flats”) is the place to be each weekend! With deep water on the creek side and shin-deep water on the bar, there’s over 4 football fields of water-covered sandy playground for all! (Please note that the woods and actual beach are private residential property – please respect the neighbors)
Two state-maintained public boat ramps exist near Deltaville, one on the Rappahannock River and one on the Piankatank River.
On the Rappahannock, the Wake Public Ramp sits at the end of Carlton Road. It is a concrete ramp and has parking and a dock. About 12 minutes from Deltaville.
On the Piankatank, the Stampers Bay Public Ramp sits at the end of Stampers Bay Road. It is a gravel ramp and does not have a dock. Parking is available along the cul-de-sac and road. About 10 minutes from Deltaville.

Located at the base of the Norris Bridge (Route 3 headed across the Rappahannock River to Lancaster) is another state-owned beachy spot. Over 400′ of beach stretches across a sheltered cove of the Rappahannock here. While the parking area is not well maintained, there is plenty of room for vehicles. About 12 minutes from Deltaville.
To the south, the old Twiggs Ferry Landing at the base of the Piankatank River “Twigg Bridge” is a hidden hole for kayak launches and shore fishing. Located at the end of Ferry Road, there is limited street parking. While turn around can be a little tight, this landing is a great little hidden gem. About 10 minutes from Deltaville.
